Commencing operations in April of 2023, the Madagascar office works closely with our operations in Mauritius, focusing on the import of raw materials and the export of various textiles, handicrafts, machinery, and laptops. Through FAMS, these goods are transported all over the world, from South Africa to the United States to Europe. Many popular fashion brands, such as Zara, JCPenney and Puma are supplied by manufacturers in Madagascar.
The island serves as an ideal location for projects in the textile garment industry – Madagascar is the number one textile exporter to the EU within Sub-Saharan Africa, and the third biggest Sub-Saharan exporter to the United States, making up 19.9% of all apparel imports to the US from around the world. This record production rate is due to several factors – the primary factor being Madagascar’s strategic location on the Africa-Asia axis. Many complex sourcing and distribution networks pivot around Madagascan production.
