FAMS Proudly Presents At MineEntra 2023

FAMS Freight Forwarding (Pvt) LTD T/A FAMS Zimbabwe is proud to have presented at this year’s Mine Entra – Zimbabwe’s premier mining, engineering, and transport exhibition. Held from November 1st to the 3rd, at the traditional location of the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre in Bulawayo, this event allowed for the biggest players in the logistics industry to present themselves to clients and learn of the most current methods and practices in the industry today. Among them was FAMS, showcasing the professionalism of our Zimbabwe branch and highlighting the overall structure of FAMS International.

Organised in partnership with the Ministry of Mines & Mining Development and the Chamber of Mines, Mine Entra has been considered the biggest, and most reputable exhibition in Zimbabwe for 26 years. Running under the theme “Accelerating Economic Transformation Through Mineral Beneficiation”, the premier expo provides diverse networking and knowledge-sharing platforms, in an effort to boost the mining industry as a whole. This is very important for Zimbabwe, as the country boasts a highly diversified mining sector, and possess the second-largest platinum deposits and high-grade chromium ores in the world, coming to approximately 2.8 billion tonnes of PGM and 10 billion tonnes of Chromium ore.

This mining sector forms the backbone of Zimbabwe’s economy. In 2019, the country established the goal of significantly raising revenue from the mining sector, by hauling minerals worth USD 12 Billion by 2023. Commenting on the progress of this endeavour at this year’s Mine Entra was the president of Zimbabwe himself, Emmerson Mnangagwa. In his opening address, the president urged the players of the mining industry to “think beyond the present” and “emerge as trailblazers in the mining and manufacturing sectors.” Officials at the expo indicated that the mining sector was drawing close to target and would obtain a USD 12 billion mining industry by the end of the year.

FAMS took the opportunity provided by Mine Entra to form many new relationships with potential clients, discussing our advantages in terms of efficiency, creative solutions, and ethical business practices. We had the pleasure of highlighting the international structure of FAMS, which facilities the efficient and economically friendly transport of minerals such as platinum, across Sub-Saharan Africa. Discussing the latest trends and innovations within the industry with other logistics providers, we at FAMS, have grown and expanded our horizons, thanks to the Mine Entra exhibition. We extend our solid thanks to the organizers, and all who came in attendance.
